Homework: Problems will be assigned at class meetings and will be due in class on Wednesdays of following weeks. No late homework will be accepted. Missed homework will receive a grade of zero. The homework will be graded, and each assignment carries equal weight. You are allowed to work with other students on the homework problems, however, verbatim copying of homework is absolutely forbidden and constitutes a violation of the Honor Code; therefore each student must ultimately produce his or her own homework to be handed in and graded. Any questions regarding homework grades should first be taken up with the Grader; if these questions cannot be resolved with the Grader, then feel free to discuss them with the instructor.

Exams: There will be one in-class midterm exam, and a final exam. All exams are required and there will be no make-up exams. Missed exams will receive a grade of zero. All exams are open-book and open-notes. Any questions regarding exam grades should be taken up with the instructor.

Homework (20%) every other Thursdays
Midterm Exam (25%) 9:30am March 5, 2002.
FINAL EXAM for this class (55%) 9:30 am, April, 25. 2002 (NOT May 4).

Course Grades will be posted at the Instructor's office. This class will participate in the Carolina Course Review. The Honor Code will be observed at all times in this course.
