The data for this exercise may be loaded from
the file ...\CHAP02\TA02_012.XLS.
See exercise 2.25 for instructions on scatterplots and regression lines.
*Warning* When you load the data, some cells will have "NA" entries.
Delete all rows with a "NA"
entry. You should get:
Now,
read the Exercise 2.73 from the textbook and answer the questions (a) to
(d) as
instructed below:
For
part (a) of Ex, 2.73, make a scatterplot with the least-squares regression
line like that ( use the first subtype
), including R^2 and the equation of the line.
For part (b), open the "Regression" window from the Data Analysis tools, and fill it in like below.
You should check that you got the same values as in part (a) for your slope, intercept and R^2.
Use the residuals to make both of the required scatterplots for part (b).
For
part (c), just circle by hand on the scatterplots from parts (a) and (b).
Also
write the answer ( Yes or No) in cell B30.
Write the answer to part (d) in cell C30.
Question:
Hand in the Excel worksheet with the above answers for Ex 2.73 (a)-(d) and the charts.
